Trans-cultural media studies; globalization and media: world widely circulating media; The Internet; or medial globalization; cultural imperialism; public viewings; Media and gender: Reproduction of gender (and other) stereotypes via media; gendered ways of consuming/using/producing media. Cultural constructions of difference(s); production of meaning; examples: the rise of talk shows, soap operas (from vaudeville to today), sitcoms (e.g. The Nanny and questions of ethnicity and last week I watched an episode where homo/heterosexuality and religion were quite important) and reality-TV shows - TVsites of (cultural) 'education';
