Work in progress - this page should become a guide to the whole site

Welcome!

http://www.wiki.uni-oldenburg.de/angl-am is the url of the English and American studies wiki at the University of Oldenburg. The platform is openly visible – and openly accessible. What do you find where and how do you use this medium?

The left hand side links

The most important pages are accessible through the links on the left:

  • Main Page is our recommended start page - the page provides useful research links, it offers you direct options to contact us, and it informs you about recent events.
  • the Community Portal leads to stable pages of university links, of staff and institute related links and of links provided by students for students.
  • Visit Current events for the calendar.
  • Special:Recentchanges is of special interest to the administrators: you can use this page to monitor all changes within this wiki
  • Help leads you to a short manual helping you to edit pages
  • Donations is a standard page, to be used to support this wiki (whatsoever this support might be).

The main page

Open an account to edit pages and contact others

To get rid of the commercial vandalism we had been pestered with, we had to limit the edit option to those who log in. Once you open an account, you can, however, freely participate. A group of friendly administrators will help you with all wiki related questions. Use this site as a platform in your seminars, as an open blog and noteboard, as your online study guide, or simply to communicate with your colleagues (there are personal pages and talk pages wherever you go),

at your service,

Your English and American Studies Team
