Main Page:Design

Wikis allow and invite modifications from all sides. The enormous flexibility is the special advantage the technology offers - it allows the publication of ever changing information. Massive and structural changes on those pages used by all are on the other hand problematic as soon as new structures turn into work in progress. The page you used to access is suddenly no longer there - what links do you have to follow to find now? It is hence good practice to test an improved design in a "sandbox" for a while:

Use this page if you feel you can offer an improved main page, a page you feel all participants will prefer to the existing. A week or two of sneak preview and debate will be well invested. Those who offer a new page layout will appreciate hints at possible improvements of the new design. The seminar's staff and Fachschaft should ultimately give their votes before a new structure of the whole is implemented.

It is in any case desirable to have different options how the site could be organised.

If you feel you could live with far less links - just your courses and perhaps the calendar - take the most convenient step and make your personal user page the page you use to access all those pages you are especially interested in.
