About meAnna Auguscik is a lecturer in English Literature at the Institute of English and American Studies at the University of Oldenburg. She studied English, Slavic and Comparative Literature in Munich and Padova, and graduated with a master thesis on "Oscar Wilde as Subject of Contemporary Literature and Film: Representations of an Eccentric Identity". She has taught seminars on the contemporary novel in English, multiculturalism, literary representations of Muslims, and the role of the critic. Her main research interests are the mapping of postmodernism, postcolonialism and postsecularism; the literary market and its participants; and most recently, the relationship between Literature and Science. She is completing her dissertation on the role of literary prizes for literary communication, specifically the Booker Prize, and the waves of public reactions: "Prizing Debate: Literary Awards and Contemporary Literary Communication in the UK" (working title).
