Talk:2007-08 AM Theories of Knowledge and Society: Hobbes, Locke, Shaftesbury and Mandeville
From Angl-Am
Dear Mr. Simons
Which chapters should we read until next lecture (I mean the lecture on the 26th of November)? Thank you for your answer in advance.
InJung
P.S. I found the chapter 20 very interesting. Especially the quotations from the Bible.
- Hi InJung, we decided to read into Locke's second Treatise of Government, the first four chapters - and to consider where he disagrees with Hobbes. You can read the EEBO text - of which I also placed a pdf on the institute's server. Click here to get the links. --Olaf Simons 08:58, 22 November 2007 (CET)
Dear Mr.Simons
Can we have our discussion in English? I spoke to Christina and Anke. They agreed with me. Of course it won't be easy to discuss topics related to philosophy, politics and history etc. in English.(Well..as you know both languages ,German and English, are not my mother tongue.) BUT, we would like to improve our English speaking skills.
