McKitterick Prize

- The McKitterick Prize is named after the late Tom McKitterick, the editor of Political Quaterly who has also written an unpublished novel and endowed this prize.
- It is administrated by the Society of Authors, a non-profit making organization.
- It is awarded annually for a first novel (published or unpublished) by an author over the age of 40.
- In June 2007, Reina James won the McKitterick Prize for This Time of Dying.
- The laureate gets £4000.
