- Periodisations as to be found in modern histories of literature
- Two positions:
- Each period produces its own literature - the literary works of a period help you to understand the frame of mind of the respective period
- We produce histories of periods to establish histories of developments we are interested to see as our basis. We support our notions of the hidden developments by producing a canon of literary works typical for the different periods we want to establish.
