Zulassungsvoraussetzungen bzgl. Englischkenntnisse für das Studium der Anglistik in Oldenburg

The language admission requirements are currently under review. At this point it seems likely that we will be raising the entry grades for the TOEFL and IELTS test to the same level as our partner university, Bremen. The TOEFL internet-based test will most likely be raised to between 88 and 100 points and the IELTS test to 6.5.

We have already decided that waivers will no longer be given for having worked or studied abroad. This means that applicants will only be admitted to the English Department on the basis of standardized test scores (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS or CAE) or grades in an "Englischkurs auf erhöhtem Niveau" (formerly "Englíschleistungskurs").

Proof of proficiency in English cannot be more than two years old.

The only exception to this will probably be native speakers of English who have grown up in an English-speaking country.

Check back in the middle of February for the final version of these requirements.

Please wait until mid-February to contact Ms. Engelhardt or Ms Graydon; at this point we simply do not know what the final version of the new regulations will be.
