Zulassungsvoraussetzungen bzgl. Englischkenntnisse für das Studium der Anglistik in Oldenburg

The language admission requirements are currently under review in order to make them stricter. The new regulations will already apply for applicants for WS 09/10 .

The TOEFL internet-based test will most likely be raised from 83 to 100 points *, and the IELTS test will probably be raised from Band 6 to 6.5. The grade in an "Englischkurs auf erhöhtem Niveau" (formerly "Englíschleistungskurs") will most likely be raised from 10 points to 11 points.

Applicants will only be admitted to the English Department on the basis of standardized test scores (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS or CAE) or grades in an "Englischkurs auf erhöhtem Niveau" (formerly "Englíschleistungskurs"). Waivers will no longer be given for having worked or studied in an English-speaking country.

Proof of proficiency in English cannot be more than two years old.

The only exception to this will probably be native speakers of English who have grown up in an English-speaking country.
