Hello Olaf,
I am in your monday group and I have a question to the assignment. In question number two we are supposed to place the scene in the content of the play. I am not sure which edition I am supposed to use here, since the fact, that the prince is supposed to be brought to London is only mentioned in the folio edition and not in the quarto edition. But in my opinion this is important for the further plot and for me to be able to state the importance of this particular scene. It would be great if you could give me just a short answer which will help me continuing the assignment. Thank you!

ich habe ein Problem.
Leider kann ich nicht so viel mit dem question No.2 von unserem Assignment-"Locate the passage within the context of the play." (Richard the 3rd) anfangen. Ich habe mit anderen Mitstudenten darüber diskutiert, aber es hat mir auch nicht viel geholfen. Sie meinten, dass wir schreiben sollen, was für eine Rolle this selected passage in the play spielt. Ich habe ganze Zeit überlegt, aber es ist mir immer noch nicht klar. Was meinen Sie eigentlich mit dieser Frage?
Wenn ich darf, möchte ich diese Frage an Sie stellen. Vielen Dank für Ihre Antwort. Ich wünsche Ihnen schönes Wochende.

- Secondly: the task is designed to help you in all your further work. If you analyse a passage of a book or play you must do it with an awareness of the context in which one finds these lines. Hallo Herr Simons,
ich habe mich gestern mit einigen Kommilitonen aus Ihrem A-Kurs getroffen, um noch einmal gemeinsam über "Assignment 2" (Richard III.) zu sprechen. Nicht ganz klar war uns dabei, was Sie mit rhetorischen Elementen meinen. Sollen hierbei stilistische Satzfiguren (wie z.B. Parallelismus) aufgezeigt werden oder Elemente wie z.B. narration bzw. docere aufgeführt werden?
Ich würde mich über eine Antwort von Ihnen freuen!

Kurze Frage: Bei Frage 2, mit dem Kontext der Passage, dürfen wir da auch die Folio Edition benutzen oder nur die Quarto Passage? Denn in der Folio (oder auch Arden) Edition wird ja schon der Prinz erwähnt, nach dem gesandt werden soll. Das wäre ja verhältnismäßig wichtiger für den Kontext im Drama als die Wehklagen und der Segen, den Richard empfängt...
