Please take a quick look at the following questions and try to find passages in the book that support your answers. We will discuss those questions and you will be provided with further material relating to those questions in the seminar.


a Is it still possible to run a presidential campaign without the involvement of the media ?


b How would you define the role of the media in a presidential campaign (book, film, reality)?


c Are there positive and negative aspects of the media-coverage of political campaigns? Which are the dominant ones?


d What is the reaction of the media to misguided behavior (of private and public nature) of politicians?


e Does the media manipulate public opinion and the political system and/or is the media manipulated by politicians?
