The referendum on entry into the EEC was held on 5 June 1975. The result was positive; the campaign that preceded the referendum had welded the Labour government together with the Conservatives and the Liberals. In the end the referendum was won 2 to 1. <br><br />
In total figures this meant approx. 17,5 m (67,2%) voted 'yes' and 8,47 m (32,8%) voted 'no'.<br />
