English Lingua franca, American/Anglo Saxon Culture influences the whole world. Political Reasons: 20th century and the US as remaining superpower, 19th century: Great Britain the great Global player. If we go back in history we have to deal with periods in which neither the Anglo Saxon culture nor English as a language played an important role.
