What is the account good for?
Your account will allow you to create a watchlist which you can use to watch sites of your interest, it will allow others to contact you on your edits (you will get a user-page and a talk-page), and you'll be able to set verifiable signatures within the wiki. All your edits will be verifiably connected with your account.
To check a user's edits visit his or her user page and click user contributions in the left hand menu.
