:PS I rearranged everything to get a better picture of the chronology - and realised that Madden actually observed the speed with which letters traveled through Europe. --[[User:Olaf Simons|Olaf Simons]] 17:01, 11 November 2007 (CET)

That definately makes more sense now. :) The new outline is also less chaotic.
