The BG Survival knife has a stainless steel blade which is to hard. This tends to make them really hard to sharpen (high flat grind not withstanding) and effortless to break. The only down side is the blade goes dull fast but not to bad a difficulty 5 minutes and a great stone and it really is ready to shave hair off. i'm planing a survival trip for this winter and i am sure it will do everything i will require it to.
